Fancy Feast for the Eyes: Paris Console Table

Paris Console Table from Eboniste

About a year ago, I was a graphic designer for Home Improvement magazine, which is published in various markets across the nation. While there, I learned a lot of about design, decorating and general home improvement, but some tips just stick with you.  I did the layout for a story about entryways, and why it is so important to make sure that they are just as well-decorated as the rest of your home.

Think about it: When you walk through the front door, you probably don’t want to be greeted by shoes scattered on the floor, kids’ backpacks and stacks of unopened mail. I can only speak for myself, but I’d much rather be greeted by a scene from a magazine. You know what I mean — a great color or wallpaper on the walls, a gorgeous console table and a sizeable mirror. Maybe a fancy table lamp.

The Paris Console Table from Eboniste could slide right into my fantasy without a hitch. It is definitely a show-stopper, with a hand-carved scroll-like form that is at once ornate and modern. But be forewarned: this table isn’t for bargain shoppers or those without patience. Here’s a note from the Eboniste: Due to the labor-intensive construction process and high demand, this item currently has a delivery time of six months. Six months? Talk about exclusive!

Why It’s Green:

  • Hand-carved from reclaimed elm
