Once upon a time, in 2008, I had an idea for a blog. It was my baby, this blog, and I treated it as such. Then it grew up a little and I started
neglecting it giving it more independence.
OK…this isn’t a fairy tale, but I am trying to pay more attention to my site and my readers here at Green Your Decor. I admit I’ve been doing more writing lately over at my other blog, Green & Gorgeous, where I write about fashion and a much broader range of topics. So, I needed to do something I bring me back over here.
Visual person that I am, I knew just the thing: A brand, spanking new design!
Yes, the difference is pretty dramatic, but I kind of love it.
The Old Design
The New Design
As you can see, I created a new logo (yay!) and the new design is pretty pared down compared to the old one. However, I think the site really needed that. There was a lot going on, and while I loved that 3 years ago, it was just time for a cleaner, more streamlined look that put more focus on the content.
I now have a single sidebar, and the site is mobile responsive, so I think it looks pretty fabulous on tablets and smartphones.
Social links are now in the sidebar as well, and social sharing can be found in two places on every post, to make it easier for you to share content that you love and see how many people have shared it before you.
I’ll be working out some kinks over the next few weeks, so please let me know if you notice that anything is amiss. I still have to resize a ton of photos and check links, etc., so bear with me on those things.
Still, I’d LOVE to hear what you think of the new design, and what you’d like to see out of Green Your Decor in the coming months. I’m not making any promises, but I definitely want to give this site more of the attention it deserves. After all, it is my first bloggy baby
