It’s been a while since I’ve done a Green Steal of the Week, but it’s also been a while since I’ve found something at a steep enough discount to make it worth sharing. This steal, however, is one I’d want to know about!
As you might imagine, I’m in full on nursery planning mode, and I’m doing all I can to make the room as eco-friendly as possible. I immediately headed to the Argington website, as this company is well known for making great organic nursery bedding and furniture. Well, their furniture sale section contained a wonderful find: Their Bam Bamboo Wardrobe for just $175.25, a savings of a whopping 87%!
Apparently, though the wood used looks like bamboo, it is actually solid birch and birch ply harvested from sustainable managed forests. All the materials, including glues, stains and finishes, used in this product are non-toxic and low VOC, and it comes with an E-Zero guarantee, which means it has 0% formaldehyde emissions. All of this means better indoor air quality for you.
In terms of storage, the top of the cabinet has two main compartments that come with double-hung clothing bars and 4 adjustable shelves. The bottom of the cabinet features two cubby storage compartments. It does not come assembled, so you’ll have to put it together yourself. Still, that seems a small price to pay to get a piece of quality eco-friendly furniture that originally cost more than $1300 for less than $200. There are wardrobes at Ikea that cost more than this!
It’s definitely designed to fit kids’ clothes, but I think it would be a great way to add stylish storage to any space.
