Sleek & Sustainable: mkPURE sink by Michelle Kaufmann

mkPURE sink by Michelle Kaufmann

If you are a lover of green design and have never heard of Michelle Kaufman, make yourself acquainted. She is an awesomely talented architect who focuses on sustainability. I count her among my eco-heroes, right up there with Kelly LaPlante and Danny Seo.

If you know nothing else about her, the sleek, contemporary design of the mkPURE sink should tell you all you need to know about her talent. Designed by Michelle and built and offered through Concreteworks, it is integrated into the countertop for a modern, continuous line. It also eliminates those nooks and crannies that dirt and gunk can get stuck in, making it much easier to clean than a traditional sink.  It also has a recessed side where you can put your soap or other toiletries. It is available in three finishes, can work with almost any faucet and is available with either a linear drain or a regular drain.

Every time I come across a product like this, I add it to the list of what I’d find in my dream bathroom. So far, the mkPURE sink and ModRocks Nature Pebble Mosaic Tile are at the top. Now…if I could just get the dream house to put them in…

Why It’s Green:

  • Made of concrete and recycled porcelain made from old sinks

Price: $1950-2550

What about you? What does your dream bathroom look like? Leave a comment and let me know!

That is one gorgeous sink. Thinking it’s time to renovate a bathroom around here.
