@Kendra I couldn’t agree with you more. On one hand, manufacturers and consumers could lean toward cheaper alternatives that are both more inexpensive and not well-made. Or, companies could refocus on creating products that are sustainable and of higher quality and therefore last longer. If more companies did this, it would eventually force down the prices of those higher-quality products.

As far as the managed forests in China, I sincerely hope that they are being managed sustainably as they claim to be. Consumers have to know what to look for and hope that designations like “managed” actually mean something. With China, it can be hard to tell.

It will be interesting to see how the economy effects the push towards green initiatives.
