If you’re anything like me, you have a huge collection of old t-shirts — some going as far back as my high school days. Some have sentimental value — like my class tees, family reunions, etc. Others I’ve just kept because I thought they looked cool. What I’ve wound up with is a large stash of shirts that no longer fit, but that I don’t want to get rid of or cut up to use as rags. Thanks to stitch’T, a company built on a unique recycling concept, I think I know what I’ll do with them.
You can send your collection of old shirts to stitch’T and they will turn them into gorgeous handmade quilts, duvet covers and pillowcases — a much better way to hold on to your memories. If you’re low on closet space, this is a great incentive to clean up and clear out.
Why It’s Green:
- Handmade
- Recycles your old t-shirts
- Remnants used for premade quilts

I LOVE these quilts!
Ooooh! Loves it! My stepson’s mom made him a beautiful quilt for his 16th birthday, with all his old t-shirts that he got from programs he participated in as far back as age 2. It was REALLY special, and I would LOVE to have one made for my daughters one day. Alas, I don’t quilt. Thanks for the head’s up on this company!

It would be great if I could make one of these myself, but it’ll probably be a good idea for me to leave it to the professionals.
