Put on Your Thinking Cap to win a Flip Video Camera!

Flip Camera giveaway

Today, I’ve got a giveaway that even the non-greenies amongst us will love. When I first joined Wal-Mart’s ElevenMoms group, I was told I would receive a Flip video camera like all the other members had, a means to begin video blogging with money-saving tips. What I didn’t know is that I would receive two cameras: one for myself and one to give away to my readers.

Since that time I have been wracking my brain for a good way to incorporate video blogging into Green Your Decor, with little success. Adding to this problem is the fact that I hate — no, despise — being in front of the camera. It’s just not a fun idea for me. Nonetheless, I want to offer my wonderful readers some multimedia content that will make Green Your Decor a richer experience all around.

So here’s where you come in:

To be entered to win a black Flip Ultra video camera valued at $149.99, I have a simple request of you. Leave a comment with at least one idea for how I can incorporate video into Green Your Decor. What would you like to see?  For your entry to be valid, it has to be relevant to Green Your Decor subject matter. Ie. It has to be green- or decor-related in some way. Irrelevant comments will be deleted.

Regular readers will have an easier time with this. If you are a new reader, you may want to spend some time going through the archives. Click the “categories” or “archives” tabs in the sidebar and browse to your heart’s content. Then leave a relevant comment and be entered to win. One entry per person.

No extra entries this time folks. If you want to win, you’ve got to comment. You’ve got until 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 14, 2008, to enter. U.S. mailing addresses only. So put on your eco-thinking caps and let the video blogging begin!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some people have been getting an error message when they try to comment. If this happens to you, please email me at jennae {at} greenyourdecor {dot} com with your comment and I’ll post it for you.

I think videos of progression would be great. Like how people use chemical laced shampoo, then show the hair before you start using green products, then how it might improve daily by using green. Not just before and after, though; progression. Can be used with cleaning, facial products, hair products, etc.

How about a “less is more” theme? Go into a room in a house and document how de-cluttering can make a healthier more open space! You could show which items to remove and or re-arrange items and then maybe add a plant (bamboo is great for the air) or some natural fibers that clean it up, bring it together, and make the room more vibrant!

On a side note (or as a supporting statement) — I think all the green products that are popping up is wonderful, but until we cut back on our need for new, new, new and more, more, more, we can’t really make a difference! Less is more when it comes to life and the environment!

Warmly,

Alison
