Great Green Gift: Alexander Girard PlyPrints

Columbia Forest Products Alexander Girard PlyPrints

I believe that the things a person chooses to have around them, in their home and elsewhere, are a reflection of who that person is. Because we haven’t been living in our own space for quite some time now, my husband and I look around and don’t see very many reflections of ourselves in our surroundings. There are the photos on the wall — but not much else. We’re hoping that this move to a new state also means a new start, and I intend to put my stamp on our space as much as possible.

I may start with one of these awesome PlyPrints designed by Alexander Girard. I see so much of myself in them — the simplicity, the graphic quality, the colors. These — all of them — would say a lot about me. Namely, that I love simple, striking design and appreciate the beauty of sustainability. The Madonna or Daisy Face prints may be a bit too girly for my husband’s taste, but I’m sure there’s someone on your holiday gift-giving list who will appreciate them. Art is one of those things you can never have too much of, and at under $100, you won’t have to break the bank to give a thoughtful green gift.

Why It’s Green:

  • Hand screen-printed on a U.S.-made, sustainably harvested maple plywood
  • Reduces waste by using plywood sheets that cannot otherwise be sold because of imperfections in the grain
  • Formaldehyde-free

Price: $89 per panel

Those are really pretty. We are looking for a place to move to as well and I am tempted to leave behind all of our borrowed and used stuff. I am ready to make our next spot our home and bring out our personalities instead of hiding behind others. Good luck with your move I hope it happens for you soon.

Stephanies last blog post..does princess = diva too?
