One of the things I have learned to appreciate since I began my green journey is products that are handmade. There’s none of the waste or emmense energy use created by a factory, and often, handmade items are one of a kind. While mass-produced products might offer a little bit of a convenience, when you buy handmade, you know you are getting an item than the artist took time and care in creating, and that kind of attention to detail is priceless. So when I started looking for a clock for my daughter’s newly decorated room (more on that later, including photos), the first place I looked was Etsy.com. Although the clocks aren’t necessarily the style I am looking for, the handmade clocks from Infinity Arts are beautiful pieces of art.
The clocks are oozing with style and sustainability, made of 100% recycled wood fiber, formaldehyde-free board. They are painted with bold color schemes and patterns that are sometimes whimsical and always well-done. They don’t fit my needs because I’m trying to teach my daughter to tell time and they don’t have numbers, but they are perfectly decorative. And I know of one family member who would have loved one of these as a Christmas gift. Too bad I didn’t find them until now…
Why It’s Green:
- Handmade
- Made of 100% recycled wood fiber, formaldehyde-free board
- Painted with zero-VOC, old-fashioned milk paints
