One thing that I absolutely love about the sustainability movement is the ingenuity it breeds. Once you become conscious of the fact that everything you buy and use will eventually reach the end of its life cycle and have to be either discarded or recycled, you start thinking of ways to reuse and reinvent everyday items. Take this daisy vase, for example. It is a brilliant reuse of a simple, disposable Bic pen case.
The Daisy Vase from Design Boom is perfect for my modern design sensibilities. I love the look of fresh flowers, and using single blooms lends an even more simple, contemporary feel. The vase is hand blow-molded. When the plastic heats up, it becomes flexible and stretches to create a natural base. Simple process that requires little energy, and the result is unique in form and function. I love it.
Why It’s Green:
- Made of a recycled Bic pen case
- Handmade
Price: $29
