I change my sheets fairly frequently. Sometimes it’s because I just want the bed to have a new look, but it’s also because I hate doing laundry for one set of sheets. So I’ll take one set off, put another set on, and then wash them all once I’ve built up a decent-sized load. The key for me now is building up a collection of bedding that is all organic as I replace my old, worn linens. The folks over at GreenNest.com sent me an Organic Jersey Sheet Set by Sage Creek Organics to try out, and I’m happy to have these comfy solids in my linen closet.
The sheet set comes in a reusable drawstring bag made of the same organic cotton, so it will be easy to keep all the pieces together when you’re ready to put them away. The first thing I noticed when I unfolded them is that they are ample in size. This is on purpose so they can fit on pillowtop mattresses easily. We don’t have a pillowtop mattress, so that meant lots of extra fabric around the edges of the fitted sheet. We did our best to tuck it under, but I was a little worried that they would shift a lot without straps. Thankfully, the fitted sheet remained in place throughout the night. In fact, we didn’t have to move it at all until we were ready to take them off.
The quality was great as well. The sheets were soft and supple and didn’t even wrinkle very much in the wash. That surprised me because our washer is pretty small and tends to make large sheets wrinkle like crazy. Because the fit was so large to begin with, it’s tough to say whether there was any real shrinkage, but they definitely still fit with lots of room after they were washed.
Overall, they provided a great comfortable night’s sleep, and I think the quality is worth the price. They are available in mandarin (orange), natural and tea green in twin, full, queen and king.
Why It’s Green:

With 3 dogs and a cat, I could really use The Pet Machine, something that reduces pet dander and odors would be a lifesaver.

I found the organic mattress section to be very helpful. I was wondering about organic mattresses and how they are made. Wonderful description of the mattress.
The mattress uses only real latex.
I didn’t know there was such a thing as organic candles. I thought all candles were pretty much organic. Now I know that a lot of companies uses chemicals in the colorant and fragrances that can cause allergies and environmental issues.

I am already using Organic Sheets for my queen bed. I love them. Husband was skeptical at first, but he agrees they are very nice and feel great. Would be great to have a twin set for daughters bed.
I have been on the Green Nest site before browsing around and they have a great variety of items to choose from. The thing I like about the company is the variety of items they offer. You can get everything you need from a matress to pet products. I like the Home Healthy Tips they offer for those of us who are learning to be as green as we can.

i like the Sleepytime Bears
I like the HEPA Vaccuum Cleaners that trap and seal in allergens like dust mites and pollens. It’s the only bagless vacuum that has built-in Microban antimicrobial product protection to fight the growth of odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew.
I would like to try the Bath Ball Tub Filter that filters your tub water. Our water has so much chlorine in it that I can smell it when I take a bath, so filtering it would be very nice, and better for my skin.
I am a user of air fresheners (this is because there are 6 members in this family and 4 of them are of the male species), but I did not know the following information about air fresheners:
The study assessed scented sprays, gels, and plug-in air fresheners. Independent lab testing confirmed
the presence of phthalates, or hormone-disrupting chemicals that may pose a particular health risk to
babies and young children, in 12 of the 14 products—including those marked “all natural.”
Very interesting for those of us who use them regularly.
The healthy home quiz if pretty interesting. A little scary, but interesting!
