@Hilary If you bought this crib, I'm guessing you probably want an eco-friendly mattress as well, and I applaud you for that :). They do cost more than traditional mattresses, but given how much time babies spend in bed, I believe they are essential -- even moreso than the crib itself. Here are the best prices I've found (on mattresses that have gotten good reviews):

- Naturepedic Organic Cotton Cradle Mattress ($129): http://tinyurl.com/dmdoeu

The others are priced considerably higher:
- Pixel Organics 100% Organic 510 Coil Inner Spring Crib Mattress ($250.09): http://tinyurl.com/b8omjw
- Naturepedic Seamless Organic Crib & Toddler Mattress ($259): http://tinyurl.com/dfx2uo
- Organic Cotton & Wool Quilted Mattress ($254.99): http://tinyurl.com/2s7ar7

If these are still out of your budget, I would recommend getting and organic cotton mattress cover at the very least. Hope that helped!

I just bought the crib from overstock, but am now worried because it doesn't come with a mattress. Can you recommend mattresses that will fit this crib that won't break my budget?
Thank you!

Now that's an attractive crib at a very incredible price. I have babies who are just about to grow out of their cribs. Had this deal been around a few years ago I'd have been all over this.
