Outdoor Glam: Capiz Shell Wind Chimes

7 Flares 7 Flares ×

capiz1As if I haven’t been obsessed enough with all things outdoors as permanent warm weather approaches, I had to go and find these beautiful capiz shell wind chimes at Celery Street. Typically, I’m not a fan of wind chimes. Some people find the sound of chimes blowing in the wind to be soothing, but I tend to think of chimes as the equivalent of ugly, noisy, gaudy, 80s-style earrings for your home. But these? Nothing short of beautiful.

I have always loved capiz shells and their high-end, sophisticated look. But I admit I never would have thought to take them outside. I am a firm believer in making outdoor spaces an extension of the indoors and paying just as much attention to the details there. It’s easy to buy patio furniture, but it’s a lot harder to make your patio look like an outdoor room. Details like these wind chimes will help you do that.

They are available in a dizzying array of sizes and shapes and shades of white, blue and green — perfect spring and summer colors. And if you need a further incentive to accessorize your outdoor space, first-time customers get 10% off their first order from CeleryStreet.com. The discount is applied automatically when you check out.

Why It’s Green:

  • Made of natural capiz shells
  • Handmade
  • Fair Trade

Price: $16-52

UPDATE: I used one of these in my daughter’s room. Want to see how it turned out? Click here!

How lovely! I normally don’t care for wind chimes either, but these are beautiful. I especially like the Multi-shaped Coconut, Green, Turquoise and Bronze Capiz Wind Chime.

    Oooh, those are so pretty!!

I’m also anti-windchime — the sound they make reminds me of horror movies. But these capiz shell chimes wouldn’t have that same effect, I don’t think πŸ™‚

I just might have to order one. Or two or five…. πŸ˜‰

    Thanks for the info πŸ™‚

My wife really loves colorful wind chimes, and I think that these definetely fit that description! I’m glad that you talked about the capiz shells and how they have a high end and sophisticated look to them which helps make them unique for wind chimes! I think that being able to have some handmade colorful wind chimes from these shells would be attractive for my wife and something she’d like to show off outside of our home!
