When I started Green Your Decor a year ago, it was little more than a place for me to document my efforts to find eco-friendly home furnishings and decor, and hopefully make the process easier for someone else. It was also a marriage of one of the things I love most — decorating — with something that I wanted to learn a lot more about — green living.
Today, this site is a huge part of my life and who I am, and I thank you for sharing this journey with me. Here are some of my favorite and most popular links of the past year:
- Green Rooms in a Box Series: I link to the whole series because it would just be too hard to pick one room. And in case you’re wondering, yes, I plan on doing a new room very soon
- Top 10 Online Stores for Eco-Friendly Decorating: A great resource for anyone who is trying to make their home greener.
- 5 Awesome, Eco-Friendly DIY Projects for your Home: You can’t beat a headboard turned into a bench or a pile of “stuff” turned into a beautiful piece of art.
- Top 5 Affordable, Eco-Friendly Sofas and Chairs
- Review Week: Battle of the Eco-Friendly Paints Pt. 3: Olympic Paint
- Green Steals of the Week: If you’re looking for a great deal on something green for your home, this is page to check.
- Green Steals of the Week: Netto CUB Crib & Changing Station: An awesome deal if you’re a new mom or expecting and you’re trying to make your nursery green.
- Green Deals: I try to update the coupons on this page at least 2 or 3 times a week. If you’re shopping green online, you can probably find a deal on this page, even if you’re not buying products for your home.
- Decorating Advice: Need a room in your home redesigned and don’t know where to start? I also offer an eco-friendly decorating service.

I’m Jennae Petersen, and I’m a lot of things. A mother, a graphic artist, a connosieur of beautiful interiors and a purveyor of all things design. Green Your Decor was borne of frustration in my attempts to find eco-friendly housewares that were also beautiful, and inspiration to do something to reduce my own carbon footprint and help others do the same in a beautiful way.
