A ‘Look at Me’ Piece: Bird on a Branch Triptych

My obsession with all things bird-related returned with a vengeance when I saw this gorgeous piece of art from VivaTerra. We cleaned up the living room a whole lot in preparation for the installation or our new Wilsonart eco-friendly laminate wood flooring, and that included reducing the behemoth of an entertainment center down to just a console cabinet (we removed the huge hutch that used to sit on top of it). This left us with a lot of empty wall space that is begging to be filled with a beautiful piece of art, and I think this Bird on a Branch Triptypch is just the piece to do it.

My mother might disagree, since she’s not nearly as fond of bird motifs as I am, but it would be hard to say this isn’t a striking piece of art. The birds and branches are actually raised above the neutral background, for a look with depth and personality as opposed to a flat, still image. It would take attention away from our large, old-school tube TV (we’re pining for an energy efficient flat panel), and put it where it belongs — on a focal point worthy of admiration. And at nearly 48″ wide, it is certainly large enough to do that job admirably.

Why It’s Green:

  • Made of sustainable tung wood

Price: $398 (aff)
