My Simple, but Festive, Thanksgiving Table

So…I promised I would decorate my table for Thanksgiving, and I just wanted to share the results of that. It feels a little skimpy, even to me, but I didn’t feel like doing a whole lot decorating after spending hours in the kitchen (which is exactly why I usually forgo decorating the table altogether) :) So I went for simple and festive, complete with fall colors.

We never bring our food to the table, preferring to keep it clear and load up our plates in the kitchen, so that’s why you don’t see any of our goodies. We tend to make a ton of different dishes, so bringing them to the table would mean a whole lot of clutter and mismatched servingware :) Maybe when we get a buffet console and some matching trays and platters, we’ll start bringing the food into the dining room.

I love the simplistic look. Sometimes, people put so much on the table it ends up looking cluttered and unorganized. Hope you and your family had a lovely Thanksgiving :)

I love the cheeriness of your dishes! It looks very nice and I dig the unclutteredness. Here’s how my mother-in-law decorates her tables

it’s mostly rentals and antiques and really pretty.

@Quiskaeya Yeah, I’m not a fun of clutter, on the dining table or elsewhere. But I guess these photos make that pretty obvious, right? lol

@Lori Thanks for sharing your mom’s table! It looks really festive and well-thought-out.

Maybe for Christmas, I’ll use a tablecloth. To me, that just means more linens to wash, but it really does look good. I think I’m going to do silver and white for Christmas. So let the white spray painting commence :)

@Sheena Why thank you, my dear! The light gray color we chose for the living and dining room looks really blue next to the red accent wall, but I promise it really is gray :)
