It isn’t often that I am instantly impressed by a company or a product. But when I came across Brave Space Design’s Light Block, I literally stopped in my tracks. Perhaps having a hunk of wood hanging from your ceiling isn’t your cup of tea. Relax. All you have to do is turn it on to reveal the beautiful organic pattern that emerges from the shadows. The photos above show the Light Block turned on and turned off. If not for the distinctive shape, it would be hard to tell they are photos of the same fixture. I like the phrase Brave Space uses to describe the effect: “modern wilderness.” The Light Block can turn my home into a wilderness any day.
Why It’s Green:
- The panels that comprise the lamp are made of Ecoresin, which is a non-toxic, sustainable material made from 40% recycled content, and FSC-certified walnut.
