Sedge Lounge Chair by Ami McKay

There are lots of reasons I love interior decorating and design, but one of the most prominent is the fact that I get to hunt for new and undiscovered (at least to me) treasures every day. Every time I find a beautiful new piece of eco-friendly furniture, wall art or some other type of decor, it literally makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This modern, minimal Sedge Lounge Chair from the pure Collection by Ami McKay does more than just that: it makes me want to curl up in it on a rainy day with my daughter curled in my lap reading Cinderella for the millionth time. It makes me want to live in it.

The pure Collection has that name for a reason. I think Ami McKay, or at least her marketing folks, said it best, so I’ll do us all a favor and quote them:

Green Furniture is not about the colour, it’s about the principles: sustainability, health & awareness. At PURE we know the materials we use in our furniture impact our ecosystem and the ecosystems where our materials are produced. We use only the finest and purest sustainable materials in our furniture. We care deeply about the environment and how our furniture affects all who come into contact with it. We care about the health of the people who make the furniture, sell the furniture and especially of those who live on our furniture. These factors are ever present with each decision we make. We honestly believe that each time we make a “smart” choice we are helping to create a better future for our planet, our health, and our children.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. And when you have a collection like this from a company whose thinking is in eco-alignment with your own, it can be hard to pick just one piece. But the Sedge Lounge Chair instantly stood out. The nature-inspired embroidery on the side panels is organic and modern, and I absolutely love it. But just in case you need more reasons to love this chair:
