When my family and I decided to go green, one of the first changes we made was to stop using disposable plates. They create unnecessary waste that isn’t biodegradable (if you use styrofoam) or requires the cutting down of trees (if they’re made of paper). Knowing that such a simple change could make such a big difference was all the encouragement we needed.
And since I am a lover of all things decor, I figured since we’ll be using reusable dinnerware, there’s no reason we can’t find some that are both beautiful to look at and made of eco-friendly materials too. This lovely, unique Oceana Glass Dinnerware from Viva Terra fits the bill on both accounts.
It is original, versatile and perfect for intimate family dinners as well as gatherings with friends. The plates are made of recycled glass, and the great matte finish means no fingerprints. When you have kids with notoriously sticky fingers, this is a blessing. This dinnerware comes in three sizes and styles: 11″ square plate, 10″ wave plate, and 7″ triangle plate. They are also available in a variety of colors: pewter, pearl, turquoise, lime and seafoam.
Mix and match the colors and styles for a place setting that is unusual, dynamic and best of all, green.
Why It’s Green:
- Made of recycled glass
- Can be used as an alternative to disposable plates
Price: $115-189 (Pricing is for sets of 4) (aff)
