I’ve never been a matchy-matchy type of decorator. You know what I mean: The type who buys every single decor item in a single pattern or fabric. I admit I’ve done it before — when I didn’t know better. Now that my tastes have matured, I rather enjoy the hunt for pieces that complement each other, but don’t necessarily “match.” When you put a room together this way, it tends to have character and depth. It also tends to look professionally done. One of my favorite ways to add a little flavor to a room is with a unique chair.
And, of course, continuing my love affair with all things vintage, I recently found this gorgeous set of tub chairs made anew by the team at Jennifer Delonge. The chairs themselves are nothing less than retro with their curved backs and clean lines. But what makes them really special is the refinishing work. They are recovered in chocolate brown cotton — I personally would’ve preferred organic, but the chocolate brown color is still mouth-watering — and the white piping really makes them pop. They look so good that I can’t even imagine what they must have looked like before they were redone.
Even as a pair, chairs like these next to a simple couch with clean lines and paired with a gorgeous patterned pillow will really allow you to flex your decor muscles and add a touch of vintage glam to your space.
