Shower in Contemporary Style: Organic Color Block Shower Curtain from West Elm

Organic Color Block Shower Curtain from West Elm

Just as I had given up trying to find a truly stylish, modern shower curtain made of organic cotton, West Elm has come to my rescue. Even though PETA shower curtains are a viable alternative to vinyl, I’ve never been a fan of anything that looks like vinyl either, so while it is definitely affordable, its not desirable, at least for me.

And there are lots of fabric shower curtains to choose from, but not very many are organic. The ones that ARE organic or made of hemp or some other sustainable material also tend to be pricey. This is why I’m always happy when big box stores like West Elm and others offer eco-friendly options. Not because I love huge chains, because in principle, I don’t. But for the average, not-so-green consumer, finding an organic cotton shower curtain on the shelves of their favorite chain store means they’ll be presented with an option that they otherwise may not have considered. It also means that the prices will be lower than at specialty stores.

That said, their newly unveiled Organic Color Block Shower Curtain is beautiful!  It is clean, modern and stylish, with great color options for your bathroom. It makes me wish that I had a shower without a door so I’d need a curtain. But its also a great option for kids’ bathrooms, with just enough simplicity to satisfy your need to be stylish, and just enough color to spark their imaginations.

And if you love pieces that complement each other, check out the color block bath mat and reversible towels. Your bathroom will be well on its way to being a green marvel!

Why It’s Green:

  • Made of 100% organic cotton grown without herbicides, pesticides or chemicals

Price: $49

I would make a pet nook/dog bed. On the bottom would be the area where the dogs sleep (just add a fluffy pillow). Then I would add storage on the back and sides of the nook because it’s great to store dog items (toys, clothes, grooming items, etc). Plus, my dogs love having their own little cave.

I’ve been looking for a nice vintage shower curtain in cotton. But this West Elm curtain is very pretty. The colors set off the room very nicely. The matching bath mat and towels would make the room complete. Very nice.
