Even though more companies are developing new eco-friendly carpeting, I am one of those people who believes that no carpet can be truly eco-friendly. Why? Because carpet, no matter what its made of, tends to trap everything you track into your home with your shoes. On the other hand, bare floors aren’t always comfortable and can be loud if you have kids and/or a staircase. My solution: Use area rugs, which can, at the very least, be picked up and cleaned.
Bamboo is a great, durable rug fiber, though most tend to be solid in color, and a little boring. Well boring this Fan Print Bamboo Rug is not. It features a vibrant, Asian-inspired print and a bold color palette that can liven up any room. At an ample 4′ x 6′, it is the right size to inject a little color without overpowering your decor.
Because bamboo is naturally antimicrobial, there is no need to worry about tracking in endless germs. And unlike its wool peers, this bamboo rug is easy on the budget at less than $50.
Why It’s Green:
- Made of bamboo from controlled forests
Price: $49.99
