My husband can vouch for my love of lilies. Though I’m definitely partial to stargazer lilies (they were the only flowers in my wedding bouquet), callas are a close second. So when I saw this vase that was obviously inspired by their beautiful, bell-like form, I fell in love.
It appears the Northern California artist who sculpted it is as appreciative of the lovely flowers as I am: the curves of the vase mimic the natural shape of calla lilies, as well as their color. Speaking of which, this would make a perfect wedding present for a friend whose entire wedding theme was based around these flowers. Can you imagine how beautiful it would look on a mantel or in the center of a dark wood dining table with a few organic lilies inside?
While this piece is obviously inspired by nature, it will add sophistication and drama and none of the crunchy “green” style that so many people stereotypically expect from eco-friendly products.
Why It’s Green:
- Hand-crafted from recycled clay and lead-free glaze
- The artist’s studio is a certified Bay Area Green Business for its water and energy conservation, recycling, waste reduction and pollution prevention. The studio is also powered by 100% renewable energy and its emissions are offset by the yearly purchase of wind power.
Price: $85.95
