Depth Made Easy: Cork Wall Panels by Not Neutral

Cork Wall Panels by Not Neutral

I used to think of cork boards as the type of thing you’d see in a teenager’s room or a dorm — maybe in a busy family’s kitchen. But that’s because cork boards typically lack style. They are plain and look like…well, like cork. As much as I love the look of cork flooring, putting it on my walls was a harder sell.

That is, until I found this great patterned wall panels by Not Neutral. Available in 3 funky patterns and colors, you can use these as standalone wall art, grouped together to create a larger piece, in an office for reminders and organization, in a child’s room…the possibilities are endless. On a grander scale, I envision alternating the blue pattern on dark and light cork to create a great headboard. Of course this would take a bunch of panels, but I think the effect would be stunning.

And another upside of putting cork on your walls is that it tends to help dampen sound. So if you have noisy kids (and what kids aren’t?), cover a whole wall in cork and enjoy a little peace and quiet — or worry about what the kids are doing since you can’t hear them :)

Why It’s Green:

  • Made of natural, sustainable cork

Price: $36/panel (aff)

You always find the neatest stuff! These are a great way to spice up a home office space too, especially one like mine where it’s all white-walled and boring!

One thing I love about these is that they offer great potential to group them and turn them into something truly amazing. I have grandiose ideas of using very short pegs or pieces of cork and layering them on top each other at the corners to create something more three-dimensional. The possibilities are endless!
