Sure, I'd like it to cost less, and I'll definitely try to find the best deal I can. But if it's a piece I really like, I think I'd pay a premium for wood that I know is FSC certified or otherwise sustainable. Finding great items for this site takes care of my shopping fix without having to spend a dime, lucky for me. And as always, I never advocate buying any item just because it's green and you "want" something new. Buy if you need it, or at the very least, if you're planning on recycling, repurposing, donating or selling the item you're replacing. @Laura Thrift shops can definitely yield hidden treasures, but I've never been able to find a table in good enough condition to put an expensive TV on.
