I know I’ve been doing link love on Sundays and Mondays, but I think Fridays are a bit more logical. It’s a great way to wrap up the week and give you something to ponder over the weekend. So here are this week’s picks:
From the Blogophere:
- Coveted Crib: West Coast Green Harbinger House {CasaSugar}
- 1,100 Species to go Extinct in 2008 {The Good Human}
- I Spy Eco-Spin: 5 Best Ways to Avoid Getting Greenwashed {Gaiam Life}
- Newspaper Furniture by David Stovell {Inhabitat}
- Gratitude {Chic Galleria}

You don’t want to miss this hilarious spoof with Will Ferrell as George Dubya on global warming.
Green Giveaways:
- Enter The Great Green Giveaway at The Good Human. You have a chance to win a ton of great prizes, including a messenger bag from Terracycle, a copy of the book Big Green Purse by Diane MacEachern, and organic, all-natural shampoo, conditioner and body gel from Yes To Carrots, among other things. Ends Oct. 14.
- Win one of two recycled inner tube clutch purses valued at $220 by Passchal from Green Grechen. These purses are sexy and sassy, and though they are made with some leather, they are made from recycled inner tubes. I’m not sure when it ends, so get over there soon.
- Win a bamboo t-shirt by Tees for Change in the size and color of your choice from Mommie Daze. Ends Oct. 15.
Miscellaneous:
- Want to reduce your household waste even further? Sign up for Terracycle’s unique recycling programs. Terracycle turns everyday waste like drink pouches (popular in my household for mini me), corks, yogurt containers, cookie wrappers, corks and energy bar wrappers that are not traditionally recyclable into great products. You’ve probably seen their awesome bags made from Capri Sun drink pouches at Target. For every item to turn in to them, you’ll get between 2 and 6 cents to donate to the school of your choice or the Adopt-A-Classroom program. Terracycle really is a great, innovative green company that takes the concept of recycling to the next level!
From Green Your Decor:
- There are a couple of great giveaways coming up, including one that fans of the Green Rooms in a Box series will love!
- Speaking of Green Rooms in a Box, have you seen the latest room? I finally posted the colorful, eco-friendly patio under $2000 that readers voted for a few weeks ago. Want to vote for your room? You’ll get a chance next week when I post the next poll.
- I’d really love it if you would head over to Divine Caroline and give Green Your Decor your vote in the “Love This Site” awards. I have some pretty great competition, so I could use your help
