I have a confession to make. I love video games, maybe even more than my husband. Between watching movies, racing through the streets of a virtual Atlanta or tackling Peyton Manning’s virtual counterpart, our Playstation 2 isn’t suffering from lack of use. In fact, we’ll easily get a few more years out of it, assuming it doesn’t stop working on us.
Unfortunately, most gamers’ attention span isn’t quite as long as ours. Video game consoles, like other electronic waste, often makes its way to the landfill, only to sit there for all eternity. But the team at pli design has other plans for it.
The Ree Classic Chair may not be the most stylish seat in your house, but it could definitely be the most interesting. The seat and back are made entirely from recycled computer games console casings — nothing more, nothing less. The frame is made of powder-coated steel.
It’s not exactly a bargain at nearly $200, but maybe you could actually get your kids to sit still if you tell them what they’re sitting on. Just a suggestion…
