Blue is one of my favorite decor colors. Some people tend to stay away from it because it is cool color and can come off as very masculine. But used well, it can create a soothing, spa-like atmosphere or give personality to a bland room. I’ve never been afraid of color, so I’d put blue on my walls in a heartbeat. In fact, I already have. But if you’re a little hesitant to choose blue, try using throughout your room on accent pieces. That is a great way to “test out” a color you’re considering without committing to it on your walls. These beautiful mouthblown blue vases from Gump’s San Francisco are a great starting point, and they are very affordable for a set of 3.
The cloudy look comes from the recycled glass they are made of, and it gives the pale blue vases a unique vibe. The shapes are curvy and modern, with a slightly traditional feel. I love using containers in a variety of sizes in groups, and these vases are sold as a set, each in a different shape and size. You can fill them with twigs, bamboo, moss balls or other trinkets, or you can display them empty. Either way, they would be a beautiful addition to a console table or mantel.
Why It’s Green:
- Made of recycled glass
- Mouthblown
Price: $69.99 (set of 3)

January 17, 2009 at 10:55 amOuuuu! I LOVE recycled glass, especially mouthblown. I’m all about supporting non-factory made products and mouth blown glass is a beautiful art where you know each piece is made with care. Totally worth the price 🙂 Too bad it’s so far away from me! lol. It does give me the idea to check out local glass makers in my city though : )

January 19, 2009 at 1:01 pmI don’t know what it is about this color but we can’t seem to stay away from it either – there are a few shades that seem to fall into this category of iced aqua, whether it has a tinge of green or a tinge of blue to it. It seems all the pieces that have that ahh! factor that we want to carry are in this shade. I saw somewhere that blue emits a sense of peace and tranquility so maybe that’s it!
