Two days ago, it was 80 degrees outside. A balmy 80 degrees smack dab in the middle of March. And in case you’re wondering, I don’t live in Florida or the tropics. Yesterday’s 46 degree high made that quite clear. My husband and I enjoyed the weather yesterday by sitting outside to eat lunch, and it was a great feeling. It made me start to long for summer to come soon. Good weather means we spend a lot of time outside, and I can’t help but wanting the patio to be a beautiful place to relax. New patio furniture isn’t exactly a priority at the moment, but it’s nice to dream. And in my dreams, the Talt patio furniture collection by Modern Outdoor is the centerpiece of our decked out deck.
It has the clean lines and metal finishes that I love, and this collection has more than enough seating for a family. Along with the table, benches and chairs are available so you can customize the overall look of the set to fit your tastes. For the days when you just want to lay in the sun, there is a beautiful, full length lounger. And while the Ipe (Brazilian Cherry) wood is certified sustainable, you can opt to replace it with 100% recyclable polyboard in black or white and choose between stainless steel and powdercoated steel. Give me options, and you’ve got my heart.
Why It’s Green:
- Ipe wood is certified sustainable
- Also available in recyclable polyboard
Price: Table, $1799, Chair, $599
, Bench, $1199
, and Lounger, $1699

March 12, 2009 at 4:18 pmOoooh… that’s yummy. Tell me though: How does this kind of wood hold up in the winter time, when you have to leave it out on the deck? Or when it rains? I hate it when patio furniture looks great out of the box, but then after two good rainstorms, it looks like you picked it up off someone’s curb on garbage day… not cute.

March 13, 2009 at 9:38 pmI have been looking around at all the outdoor furniture in hopes of finding something that resembles clean designs (without synthetic ratan & new age floral cushions), and this is so far the closest I have found. The price is not within my budget right now, but if it was I would definitly get this set. NICE STUFF.
