I can remember distinctly the day last year when I found the beautiful organic cotton decorator fabrics by Rubie Green. I was incredibly impressed by the style and quality of the fabrics, but more importantly, by the company’s environmental commitment. So when I learned today that Rubie Green is now making bedding in some of the same prints as their fabric, I was overjoyed!
Needless to say, the first thing I did was start redecorating our room in my head. Accessorizing with throw pillows, envisioning a fresh coat of paint on the walls…the whole nine. When I snapped out of my daydream, I remembered how unlikely it is we’ll be redecorating anytime soon, so I started thinking of some of my favorite bloggers and how perfect the Rubie Green bedding would be for them. So if I were rich and famous, here are the gifts I’d give my favorite bloggers:
For NICOLE BALCH of Making It Lovely: The delightfully pink East Village bedding collection. Anyone who follows Making It Lovely knows how much Nicole loves pink. And considering she & her husband just welcomed their first baby, the darling little Eleanor Ann Balch, I know mama will need a beautiful and comfortable place to relax.
For SHERRY & JOHN PETERSIK of Young House Love: The Tillinghast bedding collection. The yellow bedding is subtle and the pattern is just graphic enough to be traditional, but still have a modern edge, much like their entire home. That, and I’d just love to see what they’d do with it.
For KATJA PRESNAL of Skimbaco Lifestyle: The Habibi bedding collection, because the black and white pattern makes it as sassy and vibrant as she is. I loved what she did with her $500 makeover from Better Homes and Gardens, so I’d be ecstatic to see an eco-friendly addition to her room.
Price: $39-219

May 5, 2009 at 8:26 pmYes please! We love it. And as for what we’d do with it, how about some soft gray walls and maybe even some old weathered gray-wood side tables. We love the pops of black in the headboard. Some yellow lacquered gourd lamps on each bedside table with thin black and white crosshatched barrel shades would totally float our boat. We could even DIY the shades by buying big white ones and using a black sharpie to draw loose vertical and horizontal stripes for that handwritten, scribbled feel. Yum. If only we had another bedroom to decorate…
