A few months ago, I featured a clock made by an ingenious Etsy seller c2design of recycled magazine pages and a CD. I fell in love with that clock, and I love it still, but it is just too small for the place where I want to put it. So when I stumbled on this beauty at Organize.com, I felt like I had struck gold.
This one is a mirror, and the magazine pages are rolled much smaller, and many more of them are used. As a result, the size of the overall piece is much more substantial: 35″ in diameter instead of 16″. In fact, the center mirror on this piece alone is 16″. I just hate that it costs more than $200. Never one to spend that much without a fight, I’m actually working with c2designs to see if she can make a larger version of her masterpiece, because I’d much rather give her my money.
But one way or the other, I WILL have a recycled magazine clock or mirror hanging on the wall of our new apartment when we move.
Why It’s Green:
- Made from magazine overprints and extra copies that would otherwise have been discarded into landfills
- Rolled by hand
Price: $249.99 (aff)
