Some Ideas for Grace

A few weeks ago, I introduced you to Grace, the awesome channel-back chair I picked up for the low price of $0, thanks to Freecycle. I’ve been reading a LOT of posts about reupholstering complicated chairs, and I have to say I’m a little intimidated by the idea of taking her apart. But one of my readers, Susie Goldstein of Susie Goldstein Interiors, took the initiative to send me photos of similar chair that have been refinished. I have to say, I’m really inspired by her finds:

Via French Charmed (check out the “before” pics. Her chair was VERY similar to mine)

None of these are really “my style,” per se, but it’s awesome to see how my chair “could” look with a little creativity. I’m really thankful to Susie for digging these up for me! I’m still leaning toward a yellow or gray ikat fabric, probably with nailhead trim or some contrasting piping.

Have you found any fabulous pieces on a recent thrift store visit or yard sale adventure? I’d love to see them!
