Before & After: Sweet Dresser Makeover by Apartment28

yellowdresser-after

I have to admit that I’m a little obsessed with Before and After posts at other blogs. I diligently stalk Design Sponge on Thursday mornings, waiting for the new before/after posts to go live. This particular makeover, which I discovered via the awesome blog Better After, spoke to me immediately and I wanted to share it with you.

This dresser was in a sad state. Really, I pride myself on being able to see the potential in ugly pieces, and I probably would’ve walked right by this at a thrift store or yard sale and skipped over it in a hurry on Craigslist. In fact, I’m fairly certain I HAVE passed up pieces like this, unable to imagine how I’d turn that terribly beat up finish and unneeded mirror into something usable. But Sara of Apartment28, a design studio in Austin, TX, saw past its sad exterior and made it beautiful.

I LOVE the soft gray paint job and yellow paper on the front and sides. I would honestly Freecycle my current Ikea dresser and pare down my wardrobe TODAY in order to bring this baby home. Alas, it is already sold. Still, this is what I call inspiration. I’m definitely up for some yard sales this coming weekend…

So chic! Love the final product.
I have GOT to get my electric sander out and JUST DO IT!
    Thanks for the inspiration.

Will definitely use this on my blog.
