Green Rooms in a Box Series: Home Office Under $2500

Today’s Room: By reader’s choice, a stimulating eco-friendly home office under $2500!

I like to think of a home office as a space that is bright and cheerful — a place where you love to go and where its easy to get work done. This office is colorful and eclectic, and perfect for any creative home worker. :)

  1. Kennedy Bamboo Grommet-top Panels, 48″ x 84″  |  $84/ea., $168 for 2  |  Made of 100% bamboo
  2. Large Karma Vase, Mustard  |  £30 or about $55  |  Made of stoneware and hand-finished with non-toxic paints
  3. SusyJack Wall Panels, Shasta (with custom colors)  |  $32/ea., $128 for 4  |  Made of recycled paper and printed with soy-based inks
  4. Banana Leaf Hanging Lamp by Brastilo  |  $219  |  Made from banana leaves
  5. Tribeca Shelf by Way Basics, Espresso  |  $92.50/ea.;  $370 for 4  |  Made of recycled paper and recyclable  |  I have only showed 2, but what I’d really like to see (but don’t have room for on the style board) is 2 stacked Tribeca shelves on each side.
  6. Propeller Pillow by Inhabit, sunshine  |  $60/ea., $120 for 2  |  Handprinted and handmade in the USA  from recycled polyester and environmentally-friendly inks. All paper waste from this process is repurposed as shredded packing material, and the pillow is recyclable at the end of its life-cycle.
  7. Janthur Cushion by LoooLo  |  $230  |  Made of certified organic wool yarns and fabrics, with inserts made of organic cotton canvas stuffed with sustainable kapok fibers. Dyes are free of toxic chemicals (aff)
  8. Metal Trimmed Storage Box, sage  |  $39.99/ea.; $159.96 for 2  |  Made of acid-free recycled cardboard
  9. Low Wide Rectangle by Way Basics  |  $39.25/ea., $117.75 for 3  |  Made of recycled paper and recyclable  |  Again, I only showed one, but this is a very low bench, so three of them stacked on top of each other would give you enough height to make a seating area out of it.
  10. Move Chair by Steelcase, White Back  |  $249  |  Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certified, up to 99% recyclable and made up of to 21% recycled materials (aff)
  11. Eternity Double Gooseneck Desk Lamp by Adesso  |  $78.94  |  Uses LED light bulbs, which means that the lamp heads use only 2 watts of electricity each and the bulbs can last for up to 100,000 hours.
  12. Mythic Interior Flat Latex Paint |  $46.99/gallon, $93.98 for 2  |  COLOR: Key Lime 070-4  |  Zero VOCs, zero carcinogens, and low odor
  13. Rekindle Desk by InModern  |  $350  |  Designed and manufactured in the U.S. of FSC/Rainforest Alliance Certified SmartWood, which is 100% formaldehyde-free and finished with non-toxic, water-based stains. The UV-cured finish also minimizes greenhouse gases, and all materials are sourced in North America. (aff)
  14. Rekindle Magazine Rack by InModern  |  $60  |  Designed and manufactured in the U.S. of FSC/Rainforest Alliance Certified SmartWood, which is 100% formaldehyde-free and finished with non-toxic, water-based stains. TOTAL: $2399.63  |  A little more than $100 left to get your office supplies!

SPLURGE logo

Buds Tufted Rug by Thomas Paul  |  $676  |  Made of natural, hand-tufted wool  |  Since this is a room that likely will not get a lot of foot traffic, you can feel good about splurging on this gorgeous rug that ties together three of 4 colors used in the room
