Display Delight: Recycled Cotton Photobox & Journal

Recycled Cotton Photo Box and Journal by Arcadia

If you’re anything like me, you have tons of photos on your computer. Mine are equally dispersed between iPhoto (yes, I’m a Mac lover) and a folder on my desktop called family pics. I think I’ve gone through each of them only a few times. Every once in a while, my daughter will get the urge to look at a slide show of all her “baby” pictures — as if she’s not still a baby at 3 years old.  I was tempted to buy one of those digital photo frames to encourage me to actually look at the photos I’m so quick to snap, but I didn’t like the cold, sterile nature of it. Maybe I’m just being picky, but I’d much rather display a couple of photos I really love in beautiful frames throughout my house. I can create CD slideshows of all the other photos to show off on special occassions. And the digital frame seemed like a waste of electricity since its unlikely I’d ever sit and watch as the frame went through each photo.

This gorgeously patterned frame from Arcadia comes in what regular readers will know is one of my favorite color schemes.  The awesome part is that even though it has the look of leather, no animals had to die for its production. It is actually made of recycled cotton.  It also comes with a journal, so if you’re inspired by whatever photo you choose to display in it, or by the frame itself, you can always jot down your thoughts. I think I’m going to get one of these to put on my desk. I need a family photo close by that I don’t need a computer to view.

Why It’s Green:

  • Looks like leather, but really made of recycled cotton

Price: $45
