This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tom’s of Maine. All opinions are 100% mine.
There are very few personal care products that we use in our home. Once we find a brand that we like, and can trust, we tend to stick with them. So we use Dr. Bronner’s soap for lots of things, coconut oil to moisturize our skin, Nostalgia Organics soaps for indulgent showers, Tom’s of Maine or Crystal deodorant and very little else.
The one area where we had struggled to find — and stick with — a greener product was our oral hygiene. We’d used Tom’s of Maine toothpaste in the past, but to be frank, it tasted terrible! My husband and I would suffer through it to avoid the chemicals and additives found in traditional toothpaste, but we couldn’t get our daughter to use it as she should.
Here’s what I mean: She’d use the toothpaste, but she would barely brush her teeth because she hated the taste so much. She’d rush through the process to get the taste out of her mouth as quickly as possible. So for the sake of having her brush her teeth correctly, we let her use Colgate or Crest kids’ toothpaste.
When we learned that Tom’s was planning to release a new toothpaste, called Wicked Fresh, our hope was renewed. And when we tried it, I swear I could hear angels singing overhead.
I’m not sure how they did it, but Tom’s toothpaste has gone from gag inducing with the old flavor to downright minty and sweet with the new flavor!
Don’t get me wrong. I know toothpaste doesn’t have to taste good, since it’s not designed to be ingested, but honestly — doesn’t better-tasting toothpaste make the whole process just a little bit easier?
My family also tried the new Wicked Fresh mouthwash. Given the new taste of the toothpaste, we had high hopes, and we were not disappointed. It worked as well as any mouthwash I’ve ever used, and it tasted really similar to them too.
I can honestly say we’ve now found our new oral hygiene regimen, and the whole family, including my daughter, will be using Tom’s Wicked Fresh from now on.
